Air Bags didn't explode. Do I possibly have a case (lawsuit)?

My mom, younger sister and me where in the car when we got in a car accident. We hit a telephone pole, but we didn't realize that the airbags didn't explode. The whole front of the car was destroyed yet the airbags didn't deploy. Both me and my mom have some injuries. I have a head injury because I hit the window in front of me (dont know what is called). My mom is feeling some pain in her back and neck. I makes me think that my head injury could have been avoided if the airbag would be deployed. I was just wondering if this type of incident could be a case to be filed against the automobile manufacturer.

Thanks.Air Bags didn't explode. Do I possibly have a case (lawsuit)?
The primary safety device in a car is the seatbelt, which if you chose to wear it would have prevented your head injury. Airbags are a supplemental retraining system and activate only under certain deceleration criteria. Airbags will not prevent any injury, in fact if they deploy they will cause some injuries by the nature of their rapid deployment, this is why latest generation airbags do not deploy unnecessarily.Air Bags didn't explode. Depends how fast you were going. Typically on most cars, the airbags wont deploy till you hit 25mph. If your going less than that, then you don't have a case. If you were going faster than that, then you got something to work with.
That definitely sounds like you should have a case. I used http://www.autocollisionlaw.com before because they were from my area and they helped me out. Free consultation online and if they aren't in your area they probably could refer you to someone good. good luck!
depends if your car has air bags. if your bought this vehicle used, it could have been wrecked before and the air bags were not replaced. what year and make car?
You need to hire a lawyer. They will contract an accident reconstructionist to see if you have a case.
it depends where on the car did you hit the pole if you hit the middle of the front of the car on modern cars it is a designated crumple zone and the airbag sensors might not have detected the crash.

also if the car is used the air bags might have gone off before and never replaced.

or it could be a problem with the electrical system such as a short or a faulty connection that could happen with any significant jarring of the vehicle.

if you do decide to take this up in court you will have an extremely hard time proving that it was a manufacturing defect from the factory rather than bad maintenance.
