It's like when you buy a box of cards and there's an extra envelope or two for screw-ups. Only in the case of hot dogs, it's assumed that if they're cooked on a grill, whoever's bringing them to the table will drop a couple. See? Quite sensible, really.
Butchers like to sell hot dogs in the package by the pound or something and the bakers like to sell in multiples of 3, 4 or dozens......OR they are just trying to rip us off its all about money these days
Dogs are sold by the pound. If you look around at diiferent brands you'll find some that come 8 to a pound. Heck there are even 6, 5 and 4 to a pound varieties to be found, if you're willing to obsess about it
so that the hot dog bun co. can make money off people.

Recommended flute case covers/bags?
i have been playing the flute for about 4-5 years, and i've never paid any attention to flute case covers or bags.
i was wondering if there are any specifications or recommendations for case covers/ bags that you guys can give me.
i checked out some of the ones that Flute World sells online, and they were quite high in price, and was wondering if they were really worth it. I'm pretty sure my parents wouldn't want to waste $50-60 on something that's not worth it Recommended flute case covers/bags?

Flute bags / case covers are convenient, protective and well worth the money. $50 to $60 are really what those things cost but instead of flute world, why not try The Woodwind and Brasswind. I don't know exactly what they have right now, but I have purchased a good deal of flute accessories from them and have never been disappointed or needed to send anything back.
If you already have a sturdy case for your flute, you might just need the case cover. Get one that is padded and has a good strong shoulder strap. If you need the entire case, look into the Pro Tec brand. They really have a good selection in lots of popular colors. I have a couple of these, myself. Perhaps you could ask for one of these cases for Xmas which would make your parents feel a little better about what they cost.

Ryanair - how do they check cabin bags dimensions? think wheels on my case may just take it over allowed width
Hand luggage only to be 20cm wide but the wheel brackets on my little case make it about 2 cm wider than this. Will I get picked up for this at the airport? Hi Every 1. Last Friday 28march It was my 21st b-day, to cut a long story short I was in a club and got really drunk and had to leave without my bag. The next day i called the club to ask if my bag was still there as I still had my ticket and wanted to go and collect it. When I got there I noticed my coat wasn't in my bag any more and had been thrown somewhere else. I looked in my pockets to find my phone(which was actually a loan phone coz my phone is being repaired had gone and so had my bank card) I asked why my jacket had been taken out of my bag and they had nothing to say. Whilst I had been ringing my phone all night and it had been ringing. I'm guessing the cloakroom attendant has stolen my stuff. Yesterday I called my phone again and a lady answered it saying her husband is sleeping as he works in a club and this is his phone, she hung up and my phone is now switched off.Do u think I have a case as I left my property in there care thinking they would look after it. yes if the nightclub provide a service which they charge you for they have a duty of care you have proof of purchase (the ticket) take them to small claims court if they do not provide you with compensation and your goods back. dont believe any signs sayin the are not responsible they arent true.

Your best hope is to talk to the club manager or owner. They might be able to help, but not likely. at the very least, they should fire the untrustworthy employee.
You could set up a sting, repeat the incident, then call the missing phone as the employees are leaving the club after work. Catch them in the act.

ROSS has these kind of bags that are very large - and cheap (bette priced and bigger than their Wal Mart equivalent). If you're not hung up on wheels, Bass Pro Shops has HUGE bags that are cheap :).

Anyone know of a laptop case that lets you use your laptop while in the bag?
I used to have a laptop case that unzipped at the bottom and folded open allowing me to leave the laptop in it's case and use it. Laptop was stolen and I can't find it now for my replacement laptop.

What are the pros/cons of using a camera bag or a camera backpack? In conjuction with tripod case?
I have a sling-over-the-back tripod case for when I go on photographic expeditions. But now that I have additional lenses I need to get a bag or case or something for the camera and the lenses. My concern is lugging all that around. With a tripod case a camera backpack seems out of the question.

theyve got individual sections, and there's enough room for a camera, extra battery, wide angle lense, super zoom lense, and a laptop. and other compartments for other bits and pieces. (well that's what ive got in mine)
they've also got straps to take the weight off your shoulders, so if your carrying it around for long periods of time you don't become achy.
they've also got a really handy way of getting your camera out of the bag quickly so you can catch the shot it time. there's also a strap so you can slide in your tripod.
they're really good, but i'd advise to get the bigger one, even if you think you won't need it, with all the lenses in all the space will be gone before you know it.

I've a big Tamrac back pack. It's big enough to hold the DLSR, a compact, a camcorder, three lenses, two flash units, a 17'; screen laptop, a light meter, a joby gorillapod and loads of other kit (cables chargers, books etc). Oh and the full sized tripod straps onto the back pack too (either with or without it's case. It's well padded and quite comfortable, though you have to lay it flat to get stuff out. If I'm selective enough there's even enough room to cram a 6x4 photo printer in there!

Backpacks are fine for hauling your gear up a mountain or something like that but if you want to grab a different lens fast the way to go is to have a camera bag that straps to your waist with the pockets in the front.

Messenger bags are nice looking but can't carry as much without being heavy or bulky. If you plan on carrying some books too, get a backpack and use both straps...it will save strain on your back. I wouldn't carry anything that you don't absolutely need...leave those in your locker or car. You wouldn't believe all the injuries I've seen from people carry bags improperly or bags that are too heavy. Hopefully you have a 15'; or smaller laptop, you wouldn't believe how heavy those things get after a while. I carry a 14'; with adapter and wireless mouse and after a while of carrying it, I do feel the weight...and I'm no wimp either. I left my contact case at home...will a ziplock bag do?
I'm over at my grandparents house and I just woke up to find that I was still wearing my contacts. I've only done that a couple times before. But I left my contact case at home (along with most of my stuff).
I took the contacts out to heal my eyes and I put them in a ziplock bag and sealed it up good. Should that work for tonight? I'm going home on Sunday...I left my contact case at home...will a ziplock bag do?

Yes it will do. But you need to put them in Saline or multipurpose cleaning solution. Make sure the contact is totally covered with the liquid. I would usually prop the plastic baggy up so that the contact was covered in liquid. and to prevent the lenses from sticking together put 1 in one bag and the other in another baggy.
Best solution is to obviously go and buy the contact cleanser, but if you really can't, then at least put some water into the Ziploc bag so that the contacts do not dry out.
But make sure you get at least the cleanser on the next day.

So tomorrow, the 8th graders at my school are all going to Great America. Well, I was supposed to do(I turned my permission slip along with the correct amount of money, no detentions, no F's, and no overdue books)but my math teacher said that I wasn't going because I didn't turn my permission slip in. I DID turn it in because I turned it in with the money and my mom remembers signing it. Well she said she'd try to fix it. This happened on Friday. They put the bus lists up so late that I didn't have that much time to deal with it. The bus assignments were up yesterday. So, my mom said she's going to go talk to my math teacher(she's in charge of it) and ask her about this situation in the morning tomorrow. But if they can't find my permission slip, I'm pretty sure that I'll have to go to school. If you are talking about your carry-on bag, don't worry about it--you will either stow it above you (and you can tell if someone opens it and is up there messing around); or you will put it underneath the seat in front of you where you will be able to see it.

so im going to lake placid to skate with pros and i am packing and my mom says i shouldn't bring my zuca bag but me n my dad think i should. and i want to bring it because you never know if i need it or not and if ur a figure skater u kno y but witch is better to b on a plane.

They won't let your skates on the plane!
They dont allow sharp objects :( Me and my team travel alot and we have to pack them in carry on. For this I would use a suitcase, I would put your skates in, maybe some padding, and FRAGILE stickers. You can take your Zuca as a carry on, and when you get there you can switch bags so it's easier for you to carry your skating bag around.

I would probably bring your ZUCA bag as that would be ideal for going to lake placid but I would check with the airoplane guidelines if it would be allowed.If it is then definitely the Zuca bag if not I guess your gonna have to take the suitcase.

A suitcase would be easier to carry on the plane. Is it possible to bring both?
I would go with the Zuca (only cause the skates could stay upright and not squished)
bring your zuca bag! it's safer because it has the zippers that lock and it's smaller, keeps your things sorted, and you won't have to change bags to leave!

first of all im going to say that you are extremely lucky. you should not take your zuca bag so your mom is right. zuca bags are bulky and hard so on something like a car trip they would take up too muck room.

I would probably bring your ZUCA bag as that would be ideal for going to lake placid but I would check with the airoplane guidelines if it would be allowed.If it is then definitely the Zuca bag if not I guess your gonna have to take the suitcase.

I would go with the Zuca (only cause the skates could stay upright and not squished)
bring your zuca bag! it's safer because it has the zippers that lock and it's smaller, keeps your things sorted, and you won't have to change bags to leave!

first of all im going to say that you are extremely lucky. you should not take your zuca bag so your mom is right. zuca bags are bulky and hard so on something like a car trip they would take up too muck room.

Can I buy the aluminum case on a pair of Jesse Side Bags?
OK. I know nothing about motorcycles and/or cars. But I was backing out of my driveway and scuffed the side of my dad's side bags that are attached to his 650CS BMW motorcycle. It is pretty hard to tell, only he and I can really see it since we know, but I feel awful about it and was wondering, since the actual bags are made of plastic and are lined with aluminium on the outside if I can just buy a new alumnum casing to attach to it. Turning book bag into animal carrying case?
This is sort of a random question, but i just need some ideas to see if it'll work.
If i took an old book bag that only has the big pocket and none of the smaller ones on top, would it be possible to turn it into a carrying case for a ferret or rabbit? Could you give me your ideas and comments, also if you have any suggestions that might make it work, let me know. And if there is websites that might help, add the link.

It's easily avoided though, just do this:
- DONT travel on Tourist buses. If you want to catch a bus, go to the BUS STATION and buy your ticket. DONT buy it from a travel agent. This way you'll be travelling on the buses that the Thai people travel on, which are far safer and often more comfortable.
- DONT put anything valuable in your bag. It's common sense but Ive heard heaps of stories of people who have had expensive camera stolen from their bags in the cargo hold. It's simple, if you havent got anything worth stealing in your bag they wont steal from you. Take your valuables with you on board the bus.
- DONT accept food or drink from other passengers on the bus. It's rare, but sometimes other passengers will offer you food or drink that has been drugged and then when you fall asleep they will rob you on the bus. Just say ';No thanks'; if someone offers you food.
Do this, and the chances of having things stolen on bus trips will be very, very small.When traveling in buses in thailand (it said in some cases that people streal your bags when traveling buses)?

It seemed he changed his mind when he couldn't get away and the crowd started shouting ';Police!'; This was a nice change from the usual way things go.
Theft can happen there. All I can say is take precautions.

My sister's birthday is coming up and she has been implying-for the past two months-that all she would really love for her birthday is a make-up case, kit, or bag filled with brushes, eyeliner, concealers, etc, etc, with a book on how to apply the make-up.
My problem...I'm a dude and have no clue where to look or how to start. I've searched the web and store sites like Target and stuff and start to get a headache because of the accessive amount of make-up there is.

It depends on how much you want to spend. Somewhere like Claire's sells small, cheap kits. I know JCPenney's usually have makeup kits over by where they sell perfume, or online. they have all sorts of gift bags with make up inside. don't get her any concealer since you won't be able to match her skin tone without her being with you. get her some lip glosses, eyeliners, and eye shadows.
you can also tell the the make-up consultant that works there, that you dont really know what to get, and tell her your sister's eye and hair color and skin color, and she will help you out in chosing the right colors for your sister

I just got a new laptop, so I was looking for a cute case to carry it in. I really like the Vera Bradley messenger bags, and was wondering how well they hold up. While that is somewhat a matter of personal preference, there are a few factors to consider.
What you do plan to do with your bass? If you will be playing in a band and doing some traveling, then you need a hard case. If you are not going to take the bass out of your home, you can get by with a gig bag.
What do you expect from it? If you want to protect your bass, you should go with a hard case. If you only want to keep your bass from getting chips and dings, a gig bag will do.
The cost. There is quite a difference in cost between them. That will affect your choice. Also, how expensive was your bass? A Squier bass may not be worth the cost of a hard case. If you have an old Fender then you would not want to trust it in anything less than a hard case.

To go to a guitar class.. isn't it better to put the guitar in a gig back than a guitar case??
Well, i went to the guitar center to buy a gig bag... but my dad made me get guitar case... ';better protection';. It is extremely heavy and i am not that big of a girl to hold a huge case to my class every time. My hands hurt from holding it for like 10 seconds. My dad doesn't want to return it... he said it is better to protect the guitar.

Truthfully, though, the gig bag offers protection from scratches and minor dents and dings. But, if it falls over, your guitar is as good as naked. For example, more than once I've seen a guitar fall over and have the headstock snap off. A gig bag won't protect against that. A case will.Gig bag or guitar case?
Case most definitely. A quality, padded and reinforced case will protect your guitar for longer than you own it. A guitar is a priceless investment and an extension of yourself. A gig bag is lighter to carry, but the first time your heart stops from a guitar being knocked out of your hands while in a gig bag and snapping the neck, you'll understand the purpose of a case.
I struggled with a hefty guitar case for years (I'm an average sized girl) and then bought a gig bag when moving home - had 2 guitars to move and only one case. I would now use the gig bag if I was going places where I actually had to carry the guitar and the case if it was going in/out of a car. Really, as long as you are aware of the limitations of padding on gig bag and don't treat it as a weapon, ramming or getting rammed... unless of course your guitar is super expensive, but I'm guessing it isn't!! You could go for padding on the handle I suppose. You have my sympathy though, when I was at school I had to carry the mother of all French horn cases and now they have much lighter ones (and that IS an expensive piece of kit) For a guitar costing a couple of hundred if you are CAREFUL a gig bag should be fine for general transport. If you are a KLUTZ or unaware that people can bang into you, or are putting the guitar on a plane.... go for the hard case.makeup products

Yes, a guitar case is much better in most circumstances especially, for example, travelling distances, busking ( :] ), actual gigs, electric guitars should be used with those too, but.
If you are only going to lessons and playing guitar at home, not performing or travelling, a gig bag is much better and lighter but there is the risk of damaging your guitar more and there isnt so much space.
One of the things i love about my guitar case is that i can pin up photos from gigs and stuff inside and keep loads of stuff in there, i think it is the better choice.Gig bag or guitar case?

Do Epiphone Electric Guitars come with a case/gig bag if purchased in the UK?
I've ordered a Tony Iommi signature G400 and I'm not sure if I will need to buy a case. I had a Gibson SG standard a few years ago which came with a soft case/gig bag. I had to sell it.......serious bummer.Do Epiphone Electric Guitars come with a case/gig bag if purchased in the UK?
Why did you sell it? The Epiphone version is a toy in comparison. Maybe the G400 is ok, and I believe they have cases, though I think they charge extra. If you want a good case that won't let any breakage occur, get a Hiscox SG case. SG's have a rather delicate neck/ headstock joint, and should be evenly supported.
My mistake. I checked the spec and it looks like you've got yourself a good'un.

Do They Make Heat-Protection Surfboard Cases/Travel Bags?
I live in San Diego, and have lived on the water for years. Next month I have to move about 10 minutes inland due to finances, which makes me sad. I work right by the water, so I'm wondering if there is such thing as a HEAT PROTECTANT surfboard case/travel bag that I can keep my board in, so that I can leave it in my car, and use it before/after work without it getting totally sun-damaged/heat-damaged?
I don't know if such thing exists, but thought I'd ask. :)

Almost all of your standard travel bags are 'aluminized' and help protect you board from UV radiation. However, like surfboard man said, it will cook inside your car on a hot day. However, you could leave it on top of your car in a standard board bag. Now, San Diego isn't significantly different from where I surf, and I know an unattended board will be stolen for sure. But, they do make some decent locking rack systems. The whole effort might be a little pricey, but it is surely doable. They make reflective cases for leaving a board on the beach, but your board will get wrecked if you leave it in your car. Maybe you could bring your board in a bag, into your office or something.

Would a Train Case makeup bag make a good lunch box in high school?
i'm going into 9th grade this upcomming school year, and i always ued a lunch bag untill mine ripped to shreds, then i used plastic bags. as a more chic and trendy option, i was thinking i could use a train case makeup bag (in case you dont know----)

Guitar case of bag dilemma :(?
so i just bought a 400 dollar guitar and I'm really careful with it. i have a stand so i just put it on the stand. but the thing is i don't have a case for it or a gig bag. i want a case but they are really expensive and i just use all the money i have in the guitar. i heard the bag isn't that great so should i go with an okay bag or save up for a case. i just worried by the time i save there's already scratches on the guitar. plus i heard if you want to use a humidifier for the guitar you should have a hard case?

Bring a duffle bag, it will hold all of your stuff and won't take up too much space. It you have a lot of stuff, use a bag. Don't use a very valuable bag just incase someone wants to steal it/ it gets lost. Hope this helps!

Complete and utter rubbish. Don't you think that such a scam would have hit the media by now and I never saw it if it did
Secondly I have travelled through Schiphol more times that I have had hot dinners, at one point travelling 5 days per week every week. As a result I have probably been through every single scanner more than a hundred times and I never ever got a single thing stolen prior, during or after being scanned.
It doesn't even make sense because your luggage is closed (presumably because mine is!), and you walk through as your luggage gets scanned at the same time. They are not interested in baggage going through without the person concerned with it.
If however you are walking around with opened luggage and standing in a line - well then you may as well just place an invitation for anyone to pick what they want. DId you consider that the people behind you in the line had more opportunity than the staff doing the scanning?

Secondly I have travelled through Schiphol more times that I have had hot dinners, at one point travelling 5 days per week every week. As a result I have probably been through every single scanner more than a hundred times and I never ever got a single thing stolen prior, during or after being scanned.
It doesn't even make sense because your luggage is closed (presumably because mine is!), and you walk through as your luggage gets scanned at the same time. They are not interested in baggage going through without the person concerned with it.
If however you are walking around with opened luggage and standing in a line - well then you may as well just place an invitation for anyone to pick what they want. DId you consider that the people behind you in the line had more opportunity than the staff doing the scanning?

16 inches is a very unusual size for a laptop. Some manufacturers only build computers in 13, 15, and 17 inches. I've also seen plenty at 14 inches but I've never actually heard of one at 16. Try browsing around HP and see if they have any cases.

I'd suggest nylon with foam padding, something smooth and silky for the inside so it won't scratch your trumpet and a tougher nylon like cordura (if your sewing machine can handle it) for the outside.

Make sure the seal on the beer has not been broken...then even a beach towel wont help...dont freeze beer anyways lol

My pillow came in today... and it came with a case/bag?
I ordered a king sized down luxury pillow from a .. ';high quality'; store.. this thing came in a case-bag thing and there is a pocket in the front.
I don't know if I'm just finding this strange because I'm a former hick and I'm used to four dollar normal pillows that bunch up and hurt my neck, that come in torn plastic bags, but is this normal? I have never seen this in my life.
What am I supposed to do with the case? What is it for? It has a handle..My pillow came in today... and it came with a case/bag?

From the store's point of view: If an employee or a customer were to spill something on a $4 pillow, the store would simply damage it out and take the small loss. When you're talking about $50 pillows, though, it makes much more sense for the company to spend the extra couple of dollars on protective packaging, rather than damaging out $50 pillows.
