My mother and I are both avid seamstresses but have never tried anything like this before. Does anyone know of any patterns for a trumpet gig bag? If not, do you have any suggestions?

I'd suggest nylon with foam padding, something smooth and silky for the inside so it won't scratch your trumpet and a tougher nylon like cordura (if your sewing machine can handle it) for the outside.
