The problem with WD-40 is it leaves a residue when it drys. That can build up over time and use and cause problems. (WD-40 was originally developed to get water off of Titan missile circuit boards -- WD stands for ';water displacer'; -- and was never intended for use on firearms.)
In my opinion, there are better products for long term gun storage, but WD-40 has its uses. After cleaning, I spray my guns with it to make sure there's no water present. Then I spray them with Gun Scrubber (TCE) to get the WD-40 off. Then lube as usual and wipe down with a silicone impregnated cloth.
Works for me. Your mileage may vary.Is it ok to keep a gun in a plastic bag sprayed with wd-40, then storing it in its case?
Absolutely not. Clean the weapon and wipe it down with Break-Free or Hoppe's No. 9. Wipe of the excess with a clean cloth. Then wrap the weapon in lint-free cotton fabric--flannel, cotton knit, or a gauze diaper--before storing it.Is it ok to keep a gun in a plastic bag sprayed with wd-40, then storing it in its case?
no just spray it all over sit it on a towel for about 5 miniutes then put it in its case to dry
Why would you even need to have a gun in the first place??! they should all be banned.
Sure, why not...
